How to Use OCR |
|
Please note that the recognition rate of an OCR varies from document to document. Usually, the recognition rate is fairly high if the document is scanned from a magazine, a book, or a printout of a laser printer. But a newspaper article or a FAX copy may have a significantly lower recognition rate. Please check your Scanner's resolution. Usually it is suggested that the user select Black/White drawing, with 300*300 dpi. (Normally, a scanner's default resolution is 75*75 dpi, which is too low for an OCR.) SharpEye 2.0 supports 7 kinds of fonts. They are Ming, FMing and Hei (Traditional Chinese); Song, FangSong, Kai and Hei (Simplified Chinese). If your document is in traditional Chinese, select the traditional recognition library before clicking the "begin recognition" button. If your document is in simplified Chinese, choose the simplified Chinese library. It is suggested that you set a proper internal code in TwinBridge Chinese Partner for your document. For example, if the document is in traditional Chinese, select BIG5 for the internal code; if the document is in simplified Chinese, select the GB code.
