Q. When I create PageMaker file with CJK 6.0, it generates huge spaces between each CJK characters, what can I do to reduce the huge space?
   
A. This article introduces reducing huge space between CJK characters in PageMaker 7.0 on Windows 2000/XP computers.

We already have an instruction on how to input and print CJK characters in PageMaker 7.0 with TwinBridge CJK Partner 6.0 on Windows 2000/XP computers. However, it produces a huge space between each CJK characters, in order to reduce the huge space; you need to do some configurations on PageMaker 7.0.
   
  1. Open PageMaker, and open a new file.
2. Insert a text box on the new file.
3. Click Type and select Paragraph from the menu bar to open Paragraph Specifications dialog box.
   
 

   
  4. Click Spacing button on Paragraph Specifications dialog box to open Spacing Attributes dialog box.
   
 

   
  5. Modify the default Minimum, Desired, and Maximum values to      -40% or to the values you desired under Letter space section.
   
 

   
  6. Select a Unicode font prefixed with TSC to begin create your PageMaker file.
